If you stroll south enough along the Thames, you’ll find an old converted barge, brimming with the buzzing sound of bands and boozing.
Tamesis Dock is a floating bar aboard a loveable converted 1930s Dutch barge; now used as a floating pub, live music and events space. Moored between Lambeth and Vauxhall Bridge and a short walk from various rail and tube stations, Tamesis offers stunning views of the Houses of Parliament, London Eye, the river and its inhabitants. With generous indoor and outdoor space, with two decks with adequate seating, Tamesis offers a unique, friendly and relaxed space in which to eat, drink or listen to live music. Jazz acts play nights and live bands play sets all week, making Tamesis Dock a unique and quirky music venue, one that is rapidly growing in popularity. There’s everything from disco balls to mismatch art, lampshades made outta milk bottles, old Chesterfields and a wicked egg chair. It’s more Austin Powers than your average nautical look, and we love it.
Drinks are very reasonable at Tamesis Dock, the beer is especially good with pub prices being a good benchmark. A pint of beer can be purchased for £4.00 with a spirit and mixer an equally generous £4.50. The food is also good value at Tamesis Dock, a good selection of pub grub fills the menu and at around £5 for a tasty wrap, you can't really go wrong. If you want to watch the sun go down with a nice pint, or enjoy an evening listening to up-and-coming London musical talent, then get yourself down to Tamesis Dock, you'll instantly fall in love with this little nugget of unique London.
There’s often a party going on so join in the fun or check before that no one’s booked it out. It’s the closest you’ll get to a pub on a boat complete with gigs every now and again. All aboard, let’s go!
