Night Tales

Night Tales have spent the summer raising the roof…

…and now they’re preparing for winter by raising a roof.

That is to say, they’re literally installing a ceiling to cap their Hackney venue, and keep the warmth inside rather than out. And to make sure you don’t feel like you’re missing out on the night sky, they’re also adding some Northern Lights inspired illumination into it. And on top of all that (or strictly speaking, underneath it) they’re throwing in some flickering candlelight throughout the space, as well as fires & heaters to create a snug and inviting environment.

It’ll all coincide with the unveiling of Fat Baby, their now permanent Japanese izakaya-style restaurant (which popped up in the venue this summer for street food). The new sit-down menu has been put together by a former chef from two Michelin Star Japanese restaurant Umu, Greg Round. He’s plating up the likes of braised ox cheek korokke; pork belly & mustard green gyoza; quail kushiyaki; and fried tofu with Korean miso glaze.

Annnnd last but not least by any stretch, they’re also putting together new cocktails, including the likes of the Hot Cherry Blossom Punch, made with red wine, Laphroaig 10, lemon & cherry.

Because coming into winter is when hot cocktails start looking extremely cool…
